Hello Aqua Tutus,
Thanks to Mike Boom for his fun filled "Faces of the Philippines" presentation. As always, he presented a variety of outstanding videos with humorous stories. In this presentation he took viewers on a tour of dive locations in the Philippines and gave a preview of what folks will see in next year's trip to Puerto Galera and Dumaguete. Thanks to those who come to the presentation in-person to directly experience it. Hopefully, we'll be able to have Mike back soon for another presentation.
On September 4, Randall Spangler will give his long-awaited presentation on "Assessing Ocean Models for Dive Conditions". This presentation will be especially helpful for those mystified by wave model predictions and want to understand whether a model predicts a particular day/time will have easy diving conditions, simulate a washing machine, or something in between.
Thanks to everyone who came to the Salt Point campout last weekend. We had a good turnout and Mother Nature gave us great sea and land conditions to enjoy. I'm told those who dove Saturday morning had quite the adventure with diver propulsion vehicles (DPVs) and even discovered the wreck just north of South Gerstle Cove. Photos are posted in
Salt Point Campout August 2025 photo album.
