Hello Aqua Tutus,
First, thanks to club secretary Arnie Warshawsky for his August presentation on the Cayman Islands. I'm a little envious in that he saw much more than I did when I visited Cayman Brac three years ago.
Also thanks to all those who drove to Round Table Pizza in Castro Valley to attend Arnie's presentation in person. I think it was our largest in-person turnout to a general meeting since COVID-19. It's great to see people making the effort to get together again face-to-face.
Our September general meeting will be a Philippines-focused members night. Based on what I see in the "Members Night September 2026 - Philippines Focus" thread of the Club Event communication forum, there's only a handful of club members who went to the Philippines last June planning to share what they saw during the trip. I'm sure there are many members, besides me, who would love to see what others on the trip thought was interesting enough to press a camera shutter button. Don't be bashful! Members nights aren't photo contests or time to critique photo skills. Let entertainment director David Sheh and Dave Chervin know you'd like to show some of what your shots by (1) signing into the
Forums, (2) view the Club Event communication forum, (3) click on the "Members Night September 2026 - Philippines Focus" thread, and (4) reply to David's entry at the top of the message list.
The September club dive will be Saturday, 9/12. Club member-at-large Lindsay Martin is serving as point of contact for the dive. Let Lindsay know if there's some site in particular you'd like to dive. I know she's open to suggestions and the location remains TBD as I write this.
Finally, I've inventoried the club's collection of no longer needed audio-visual equipment. You can view the list by (1) going to the club's For Sale
Forum and (2) click on the "Audio-visual Equipment Free to Club Members" thread. If you'd like something(s) from the list, reply to my post with a post of your own.
